A full-day, hands-on course for registered healthcare professionals covering wound closure strips, skin adhesive, staples and suturing, taught to match your scope of practice.
The course
Practical wound closure skills
For registered staff in Minor Injuries Units, Urgent Treatment Centres, Emergency Departments and pre-hospital care. You learn to assess, manage and close a variety of wounds, with inclusive teaching that supports every skill level to build confidence and clinical reasoning.
Syllabus
What is covered
Also: IPC, hand hygiene, the integumentary system, wound types and healing, bleeding assessment, red flags and dressings.

Assessment
How you are assessed
Assessment is continuous, with ongoing practical skills assessment and a Single Best Answer (SBA) written paper. On success you receive a certificate confirming the topics covered and your competence in wound closure appropriate to your role.

- GMC, NMC, GPhC, HCPC or GDC registrants with a current PIN
- Healthcare students in Year 2 or above of a recognised programme
