First aid when help is far away
A regulated, nationally recognised qualification for people in unsupported outdoor roles — outdoor activity leaders, bushcraft and canoe instructors, Duke of Edinburgh assessors — running activities where medical help could be up to a few hours away.
Syllabus
What's covered
Core first aid adapted to remote outdoor settings, plus the environmental problems you are likely to meet.
- Assessing an outdoor incident and summoning help
- CPR, AED use and the unresponsive casualty
- Head, spinal, chest and abdominal injuries; fractures and bleeding
- Hot and cold injuries, drowning and water-based incidents
- Anaphylaxis, asthma, diabetes, seizures, tick and adder bites
