Apex Medical & Rescue provides private High Dependency (HDU) transfers for patients whose condition requires close clinical monitoring, rapid response, or life-support equipment during transport.

Our HDU crews are made up of experienced Paramedics, Doctors and clinical trained staff, supported by fully equipped ambulances capable of delivering a high level of clinical care and monitoring. Whether it's an urgent transfer that can't wait for standard NHS provision, a private hospital to hospital move, or a time critical repatriation, we're able to mobilise quickly and keep you informed every step of the way.

What our HDU service includes:

  • Emergency specification ambulances and clinical crews for time-critical transfers, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Crews experienced in high dependency transport, for closely monitored patients.
  • Vehicles equipped with cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, resuscitation equipment and advanced life support level pharmacology.
  • All our vehicles can host specialist hospital equipment for specific transfers with 240 power and mounting points. Ability for specialist hospital teams to accompany the patient during the transfer as needed.
  • Rapid mobilisation and direct liaison with receiving hospitals, booking clients, patients and families.
  • Clear, communication with families, patients and clients throughout the journey
  • Careful handover to receiving clinical teams, with full documentation of care provided in transit
